isthetubefucked.com pulls live travel data from TfL's publicly available feeds and processes it according to a few simple rules. For each Tube line, we assign a score based on its current status.

The higher the score, the more fucked the Tube is. We have the following four broad categories of fuckedness: allegedly not (0-3), somewhat (4-7), mostly (8-14), and completely (15+).

TfL likes to distinguish between part/partial closure and planned closure, where the latter typically means that engineering works are taking place according to a pre-published schedule for Tube improvement work. We don't make any such distinction, since this site is merely here to answer the simple question "Is the Tube fucked?", and, of course, the Tube is no less fucked for any given passenger if the fucking was planned in advance.

TfL's feeds are updated every 30 seconds, apparently, though please note that isthetubefucked.com will need to be manually refreshed in order to reflect any changes.
